My name is Joanne and I live with my partner Bob. We are based in Old Colwyn, Conwy, on the beautiful coastline of North Wales.   I have owned and loved chihuahuas for 24 years. It all started when I was given my first long coat chihuahua as a present. She was named Holly, and I immediately fell in love with this delightful breed.  A few months later Jessica joined  us, another long coat girl. It was from these girls names and mine that I got my affix  "Holansica" which was granted to me by the Kennel Club many years later. Jessica became my foundation bitch and is behind most of my breeding and I now have 5 generations from Jessica at home. Jessica  produced some lovely show winning dogs. Megan, Betsy-Ann and Olivia have all done well in the ring. Betsy- Ann won her first Challenge Certificate at the Northern Counties Chihuahua Club, also Megan won her class at Crufts 06 then gained a second placing  in 07. Olivia also won second at Crufts 07, we are extremely proud of all our girls. After visiting a friend of ours "Helen", she suggested showing Jessica, we entered her and went along to the next Chihuahua Club Show, Jessica was placed in her class. We were then totally addicted and have loved showing ever since. After being in the ring for a few years, a friend of ours Carole Barlow sold us two of her beautiful chihuahuas. Buttons  “Mardegrae Magic” who’s parents are  CH. Yeosinga Brad x Mardegrae Tango, was  a red long coat dog who got his first Challenge Certificate at twelve months. He was a great showman and always loved being in the ring. Shortly after Lil- lea (his niece) a gold long coat girl  “Mardegrae Merry go Round at Holansica ShCM”, who’s parents are CH. Crosshouse Pablo Too at Salsero x Mardegrae Tango  came to live with us, she gained her ShCM and four Reserve Challenge Certificates, she always showed well for us and won endless prizes. Buttons and Lil-lea produced lovely show winning puppies and I would like to thank Carole for giving us this opportunity to own and show these two gorgeous chihuahuas, and entrusting us with her bloodlines. You can visit the show page for up to date show results of our dogs.   All our dogs live in our home as part of our family, all the dogs that live with us do so for life and are not got rid  of just because they don’t like showing for some reason. We are lucky to have such a lovely large secure garden which the dogs love to chase round in and explore in. Also we have the beautiful beaches and countryside for the dogs to run freely. Our dogs go back to good sound show stock and we pride ourselves in the breeding of healthy, typey, outgoing puppies with excellent temperaments, it is only very occasionally that we may have puppies for sale, as we only really breed for ourselves when we want something to show, but sadly we cant keep everything we breed so occasionally a puppy may come available to a loving home. Our puppies are brought up in a homely environment, and loved and handled from day one.
